Shape Editor

ArtCAM Insignia’s Shape Editor is an extremely powerful 3D modelling tool.  By simply double clicking on a specific colour of your bitmap image or a selected vector, you can quickly transform it into a 3D design.  The Shape Editor allows you not only to determine the shape’s profile, angle and height but also how the shape is combined with the 3D relief you have already created.

Create Rotary Relief

The Create Rotary Relief feature is ideal if you want to make a cylindrical shaped design such as a: chair leg, 3D sculpture or rotary embossing die. It takes your 3D relief and instantly wraps it along the x or y axis to create the rotary design. This data can then be used to create the toolpath to rotary machine your 3D model.

Two Rail Sweep

The two rail sweep tool is a unique way of creating 3D designs from vector art. By selecting multiple vectors for the edges of the shape and any number of cross sections for chosen positions you can quickly create a 3D sweep shape or sweep surface giving you the power to create complex and beautiful relief artwork simply.

Triangle Mesh Creation

ArtCAM Insignia’s triangle mesh generator allows you to create triangle meshes which you can then export in a number of common 3D model file formats. This tool can create either an open or closed triangle mesh, suitable for machining.
